I recently visited the tavern for a birthday meal with my friends and again i was not disappointed. Although it was busy, the staff had time for everyone and unlike a lot of restaurants, the amount of attention was just right. I was surprised to find out there was an upstairs to the restaurant, as i had previously sat downstairs. The view was lovely and the atmosphere was perfect. I first ordered a pitcher of the house favourite margerita cocktail, which at £15, which gave two people around three/four glasses each. Well worth the money. As for the menu, a few of my friends had never visited before so i recommeneded the gold fingers/ cheese & onion quesadillas to start with and pretty much everything off the mains menu! However we went with chicken fajitas, burritos and tacos. I can't even begin to describe how delicious it was. Let's just say that each plate was clean by the end of the meal and i was tempted to order dessert but my stomach couldn't have taken any more. Maybe next time though!

Just had our annual works Christmas meal (off the Christmas Menu) at the Tavern Queens Square, it was awful! Normally the food in the tavern is good and is somewhere I frequent quite often. It was so disappointing and a total waste of money, especially as they add quite a substantial tip on the bill. My advice is, don’t order off the Christmas menu, it’s a total rip off.

You can smell the tequila as soon as you walk through the door, very authentic! This is possibly one of the best restaurants in Liverpool! You are seated straight away and the staff are there whenever needed. The service is fantastic, you are fully informed and considering how busy it is, your orders are brought out in good time.

It offers a good range of mexican dishes and the portions are more than enough, you won't leave this restaurant hungry! It has everything from burgers and burritos to the highly recommended chicken fajitas. Most dishes come with a side of mexican rice beans and guacamole and they are absolutely delicious. If you just feel like a lunch time nibble, then the nachos are a must. They come plain, with chilli and chicken.

Another thing this restaurant should be proud of, is their margerita cocktail jugs! £15 may seem a little bit expensive but they are worth the price and you won't need to buy another!

The Tavern is great for an evening meal, whatever the occasion. You will leave feeling satisfied and full up for a week!

Great Mexican Restaurant. I'll get to the point, food comes in big portions, is tasty and flavourful, prices are spot on and so far of the numerous times I have been, always good! Definitely one I would recommend, in fact I do, go!
