Graced by celebrities such as Westlife and Kanye West, Kingdom is THE place to be seen at the moment. Barely a year old, this ‘exclusive members’ club is the latest addition to Liverpool’s regeneration and with only basic information on their website, just exactly how do they advertise? Well it seems word of mouth and the occasional poster are the only forms of publicity to partygoers and somehow it attracts a fairly decent crowd. Judging by the type of people this place attracts, I’m hardly surprised at the limited advertisements. Kingdom attracts the ‘beautiful’ people and unless you want to sit down at a booth worth £100 with a minimum spend, it may not seem worth it. However, drinks prices are a lot cheaper than one might expect and if you can get there before 11pm on a weekend, you can get in for free.
When visiting Kingdom, bearing in mind that you actually get in and get a place at the bar, don’t expect the V.I.P treatment…unless you are a V.I.P if course. The bar staff are friendly enough and will help whenever needed but their time does seem to be taken up by the people who can afford the booths. Overall, it’s ok if you actually know what types of events are happening at the club, you know how to get in, how much it’s going to cost and you wear correct footwear. The general public aren’t aware of these things, but saying all that, if you don’t mind a bit of pretentiousness, then it’s an alright night out.
